Hop on up

T’is my favorite mode of transportation

Pegasus is a good friend of mine

Come on now

Here

Take my hand

It don’t bite &

Neither does this flying horse

Ah yes

Let’s go

!

Flying low flying high

Let’s go find some sky

!

Ah yes

Each cloud a smiley face

Each patch of blue endlessly

happy happy

What?

Feeling kind of crappy?

Well well

Let’s go

Find some ghoul

Whose head

You can puke on ’til

he’s drowning in a pool

of disharmony &

We’ll fly away full of

happy happy again

Oh my

We’re higher than all those

puny skyscrapers below

The wind singing awesome songs

We’ve never heard befo’

You’re smiling so much

My goodness

My goddess

You’re smiling so much

So so much my goddess

!

Spitball Fury

    by Rawclyde!                                                                                                             ~

The small sphere

Hurls Ghost Face

Deeply into space

~

“Where did she go?”

He grits as the metal ball spins

Over Hong Kong

~

There’s so much space out here

His eyeballs

spin too

~

And his head flies off

Knocks around

Seeking a way out

~

His body goes thru a

Transformation

From weak to weaker

~

Slows down to such a degree that

His cantankerous head decides to sneak back onto

The top of his neck

~

Ghost Face secures it there

With a few pieces of duck tape

Leans on the stick

~

The spitball burps

farts &

Speeds forth

Muse

~

The muse ~ what a concept ~ what a phenomena!  Creativity is inspired by ~ a muse.  Amusing concept.  Bemusing phenomena.  Well, you have to tap into something other than an empty barrel.  So Greek Mythology did.  Thus we have the muses ~ a god’s nine daughters ~ or any somewhat special woman ~ or man ~ or entity ~ to inspire creativity.

Once upon a time, I spent some time at a Christian mission.  While residing there, I found work.  Eventually I left the mission, rented a trailer & continued to work.  As soon as I moved into the trailer, I got good & drunk, sobered up, and began to write.  I couldn’t write at the mission.  The place stifled my creativity.  The job was a block away & I worked it & in the trailer I wrote.  And what did my muse inspire me to write?

Porno of course.  That’s what it turned into.  You can call it erotica.  But it was porno, pure & simple.  I decided this wouldn’t do.  So what kind of solution did I come up with?  And was the solution really mine?  Or was it ~ a muse’s?

Well, the muse for this particular writing project, it figgers after living at a mission, turned out to be ~ the Holy Ghost.  Three years later an endless narrative rhyme, Deep Desert Blues, was completed ~ incidentally, one week before my mother died.

So go ahead & pick your muse.  Or let a muse pick you.  Then live with it & be ~ creative!

Winning

~

Tulsi Gabbard, the fourth of five children, spent her life growing up in beautiful Hawai‘i. As a teenager, she co-founded an environmental non-profit called Healthy Hawai’i Coalition, focused on educating children about protecting Hawaii’s environment. An advocate for environmental policy, Tulsi was elected to the Hawai‘i State Legislature in 2002 when she was just 21 years old, becoming the youngest person ever elected in the state. A year later, she joined the Hawai‘i Army National Guard to serve Hawai‘i and our country. In 2004, Tulsi volunteered to deploy with her fellow soldiers, becoming the first state official to voluntarily step down from public office to serve in a war zone.

~

~

Tulsi served two tours of duty in the Middle East, and she continues her service in the Army National Guard as a Military Police Major. In between her two tours, Tulsi served in the U.S. Senate as a legislative aide to Senator Daniel Akaka (D-HI), where she advised him on energy independence, homeland security, the environment, and veteran issues.

~

~

In 2010, Tulsi was elected to the Honolulu City Council, serving as Chair of the Safety, Economic Development, and Government Affairs Committee and Vice Chair of the Budget Committee. Tulsi was elected in 2012 to the United States House of Representatives, serving Hawaii’s 2nd District. She is one of the first two female combat veterans to ever serve in the U.S. Congress, and also its first and only Hindu member. Days after being sworn in to her first term in Congress, Tulsi was selected to serve as vice-chair of the Democratic National Committee.

Now in her second term in Congress, Tulsi brings with her a broad range of real world experience, a storehouse of personal strength, and tested leadership as she represents the people of Hawai’i and our nation in Congress. As she works on the challenges that face our country, she remains focused on bringing her pragmatic approach to working in a collaborative, bipartisan fashion to find real solutions that best serve the people. Tulsi serves on the House Armed Services Committee and House Foreign Affairs Committee, where she is a strong advocate for veterans, our service members, and making smart strategic decisions that best secure our nation. Tulsi is working every day to make sure we have a sustainable economy that works for all families, with access to affordable health care, good jobs, and a quality education.
